Competitions Committee announces SPL 2019-2020 fixtures



Competitions Committee of Saudi Professional League Association announced the fixtures of Saudi Professional League which will start on August 22nd.
This came during the committee's meeting which was held on Sunday and chaired by Mr. Ahmed Bin Rashed Al-Rashed, chairman of Competitions Committee with the clubs' representatives.

The committee presented the measures on which the table was put, to the clubs' representatives in addition to presenting an explanation of the system used in the games determination.

For his part, Mr. Ahmed Bin Rashid Al-Rashid, chairman of Competitions Committee cleared that the committee adopted 9 standards in putting the league fixtures, confirming the committee and Saudi Professional League Association harnessed all potential and technologies to make the Saudi Professional League appear in the best shape which befitting its strength and stature.

Al-Rashid confirmed that the committee did its best to match the expectations of the sport leadership and the sport street in general, hoping that all these arrangements increase the competitiveness between the league clubs.

Al-Nassr, the title holders will start the season against Damac on August 22nd, while Al-Adalah will face Al-Ahli on August 23rd, while Al-Hilal will meet Abha in Riyadh on August 23rd and Al-Taawoun will face Al-Hazem in Burrida and Al-Ittihad will meet Al-Raed in Jeddah.

The first round games will be concluded on August 24th with the games of Al-Fateh against Al-Shabab, Al-Faisaly and Al-Fihaa and Al-Wehda and Ettifaq.

The fourth week will witness the first classico between Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal in Jeddah, while Al-Ahli will face Al-Nassr in the fifth round, Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli will play in Riyadh in the 11th round and Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad will meet in the 14th round.

The first derby in the season will see Al-Nassr visit Al-Hilal in the 8th round while Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad will meet in Jeddah derby in the 9th round.
