‘Visit Saudi’ and MBS Pro League Sign Partnership Agreement to Promote Saudi Arabia as a Tourist Destination



‘Visit Saudi’ and MBS Pro League have signed a partnership agreement aimed at promoting Saudi Arabia as an international tourist destination and raising awareness of the various destinations within the kingdom with its rich cultural heritage and biodiversity. The agreement also aims to showcase the nation’s unique tourist attractions to the wide audience of Saudi Pro League viewers locally, regionally and globally.
The partnership agreement was signed at the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) offices in Riyadh on Wednesday 29, September 2021. ‘Visit Saudi’ was represented by STA CEO of Partnerships and Foreign Affairs Mr. Abdullah Al Haqbani while SPL was represented in the signing ceremony by CEO Mr. Abdulaziz Al Hamidi.
The agreement is set to boost the efforts of the STA in highlighting the kingdom’s unique geographic location, diverse natural terrains and rich cultural heritage across its numerous regions and cities where tourists can experience authentic Saudi hospitality.
This step stems from the STA’s desire to establish close collaboration with towards mutual gains with various government and private institutions, with this latest agreement set to further boost the market value of the MBS Pro League while enhancing the STA’s successes as it launches a collection of programs and initiatives to promote summer and winter tourism in the kingdom as well as achieving the tourism sector objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Crucial to bringing this partnership to life are the competitiveness, popularity and marketing value of the MBS Pro League which saw it become one of Asia’s top domestic competitions in recent years with a burgeoning reputation and increased quality of players.
Speaking on the occasion, STA CEO Mr. Fahd Hamidaddin spoke of his pride of this partnership with the SPL. “The MBS Pro League is a competition that carries an important and precious name for us and is followed by a wide audience within the kingdom and abroad. We aim to utilize it to showcase Saudi Arabia as a leading sporting destination with unique diversity and attractions,” he said.
In turn, SPL Chairman of the Board Engineer Abdulaziz bin Hassan Al Afaleq explained, “This partnership links together the sports and tourism sector, both of which are vital sectors for the nation. At SPL, we aspire to create a different experience for fans through the huge potential of the league and Saudi Arabia’s massive tourism potential.”
