SPL closes in on 500 goals .. Koval holds clean sheets record



The end of Prince Mohammed bin Salman League for Professionals closes as 176 matches were played between 16 teams.
165 players scored the league goals either goals for their teams or own goals against their teams with a ratio of 2.81 goals per match according to www.spl.com.sa statistics.
31 goalkeepers participated in 22 rounds as Al-Shabab, Al-Taween, Al-Fateh, Al-Faisaly and Al-Hazm clubs did not change their goalkeepers over the past rounds while two goalkeepers were rotated for Al-Hilal, Al-Nasr, Al-Ahli, Al-Wahda, Al-Raed and Al-Qadsya clubs while three goalkeepers were rotated for Al-Ittifaq, Al-Fayhaa, Al-Ittihad and Ohod clubs.
Al-Taween's Leandre Tawamba, Al-Hilal's Bafetmi Gomis and Al-Nasr's Abdel Razik Hamdalla are the only players to score against 10 teams in Prince Mohammed bin Salman League for Professionals.
Al-Taween's Cameroonian striker Leandre Tawamba heads goal scorers list, with 18 goals, one goal ahead of Al-Hilal's Bafetimbi Gomis followed by Al-Ahli's Omar Al-Somah and Al-Nasr's Abdel Razik Hamdalla with 15 goals then Chrisian Guanca from Al-Ittifaq with 14 goals.
Tawamba's goals were scored against Al-Ittifaq (4 goals), Al-Batin and Al-Fayhaa (Three goals), Ohod (Two goals) and one goal only against Al-Nasr, Al-Fateh, Al-Ittihad, Al-Hazm, Al-Ahli and Al-Faisaly.
Tawamba scored two hat-tricks against Al-Ittifaq and Al-Fayhaa.
For his part, Gomis netted three goals against Al-Batin and Al-Fateh, two goals against Al-Nasr, Al-Raed and Al-Ittihad and one goal versus Al-Qadsya, Al-Ahli, Al-Hazm, Ohod and Al-Raed.
It must be noticed that Tawamba netted five penalties while Gomis converted four.
Hamdalla scored 4 goals against Al-Raed, two goals against Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad and one goal against Al-Shabab, Al-Fayhaa, Al-Hilal, Al-Qadsya, Ohod, Al-Batin and Al-Taween.
Hamdalla scored a super hat-trick against Al-Raed and converted 4 penalty kicks.
Al-Somah scored goals against 9 teams among them four penalties.
Guanca scored goals against 9 teams among them two penalties.
Mohamed Al-Sairi from Al-Hazm is the best Saudi goal scorer in the league with 10 goals with a ratio of 0.56 goals per match.
Al-Nasr's Nordin Amrabat and Al-Hilal's Gomis are the players with the most assists with 7 goals for each player followed by Luisano from Al-Faisaly, Al-Nasr's Hamdalla, Al-Ahli's Al-Somah and Al-Taween's Heldon Augusto with 6 assists.
For the national players, Al-Hilal's Mohamed Al-Braik is the player with most assists by setting up 5 goals followed by Al-Ittihad's Nasser Al-Shmarni and Al-Hazm's Khaled Al-Baraka with 4 goals for each player.
The Ukrainian goalkeeper Maxim Koval from Al-Fateh holds the record for most clean sheets kept with 10 games, followed by Al-Shabab's Farouk Bin Mosatafa with 9 games although he conceded the fewest goals in the league with only 14 goals while Koval received 25 goals.
Al-Nasr's Brad Johns came third in the list of the keepers with the most clean sheets with keeping 7 clean sheets in 19 matches.
