SPL 2018-2019 season sets new attendance record



The current season of Prince Mohamed Bin Salman League for Professionals has broken the attendance record of Saudi Professional League, as the attendance of 1,677.908 fans in 202 matches surpassed the previous record of 2014/2015 season, according to the statistics of (www.spl.com.sa).
The sixth season of the Saudi Pro League, 2014/2015, witnessed the attendance of 1664652 fans to stay the season with the highest attendance record until the current season.
SPL Association has started to announce the attendance figures from the third edition 2010/2011 as 765162 fans attended the games of this season, followed by 796158 fans in the following season with a small increase from its predecessor, but the 5th season, 2012/2013 experienced a reduction in the attendance figures from its predecessor 2011/2012 ؛ as 644922 fans attended the games of the league.
893676 fans attended the games of the sixth edition with an increase of 93676 fans, to break the barrier of 800 thousands fans for the first time.
The attendance figures did not fail below one million fans in 2015/2016, 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 seasons ؛ as 1256810 attended the games of the 8th season, followed by 1270432 fans in the 9th season and then 1042071 attended the games of the 10th edition.
The current season of SPL needed only 15 round to pass the million mark, as SPL Association announced last January that the attendance figures exceeded one million fans.
The figures of the current season overtook the figures of the previous edition of SPL after only 15 rounds with the attendance of 1039565 fans, while the last season needed 25 rounds to reach 1004306 fans.
