AL Moaamer joins World Association of Professional Football Leagues Steering Committee



Saudi Professional League Association Chairman, Mosalai AL Moamaer, became a member of the Steering Committee of the World Association of Professional Football Leagues.
This came during the meeting which was held in Paris on Friday morning and was hosted by the French League Association.
The Steering Committee which includes 12 members is derived from the the General Assembly which consists of 39 members representing the world professional leagues.
The Saudi Pro League Association became the second Asian association in the World Association after the Japanese Association, as the choice based on specific criteria established by the World Association.
The board discussed during the meeting, attended by FIFA representatives, number of issues related to football, in addition to exchanging opinions with FIFA representatives, inter alia FIFA Club World Cup schdule, each confederation nominees, mechanism of disturbing revenues, number of matters related to the development of football which were referred to the FIFA assembly to submit proposals about it.
For his part, AL Moamaer confirmed that joining The World Association of Professional Football Leagues came upon what have been achieved by the Saudi Pro League in the rankings of the association as it came among the best 12 leagues in the world surpassing number of great European and Latin leagues.
"This is due primarily to the governmental support handed to Saudi Pro League in the current season, which helped clubs to sign a large number of great international players who contributed in raising the level of competition", AL Moamaer said.
"The Steering Committee chairman and members were invited to hold the next meeting of the World Association in Riyadh as it will be an opportunity to enhance the relationships between the Saudi football officials and their international counterparts", he added.
