Stadiums become a major weekly destination for Saudi families



Sport in Saudi Arabia is no longer a part of the society as it has been in recent years, but has become a major partner of the society, which has moved in its different groups towards the sports pitches for many purposes like practicing, following-up and entertaining.
Following the recent development steps like the initiatives carried out by the General Sports Authority, which emanates from initiatives and objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, in the forefront allowing the families to attend the matches in sports stadiums that have been configured for this purpose in line with the privacy of the Saudi family.
Since the announcement of the decision to allow the families to enter sports stadiums in late October of 2017 by Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, the stadiums became a main destination every week for a large number of families in various provinces of the Kingdom like: Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Dammam, Khobar, Al Ahsa, Buraidah and Al Majmaa
These families have found special attention from the organizing bodies in all stadiums.
His Excellency Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, has been keen to provide more services in the stadiums by expanding and developing them and improving the environment of the stadiums in all respects.
Presenting awards like a car and other awards in every match has resulted in a significant increase in the number of public attendance of the games this season, which recorded an unprecedented record in Prince Mohammed Bin Salman League for Professionals.
Attendance figures of league matches exceeded the half million fans during the first eight rounds, the second round saw a total attendance of 79,100 fans while the eighth round was attended by 69,372 fans, the total attendance of the seventh round was 48230 fans as the lowest number of rounds in terms of the attendance, while the fifth round attendance was 55167 fans, compared to 64334 fans attended the sixth round, while the second round saw the presence of 67409 fans.
Total attendance in the first eight rounds of Prince Mohammed Bin Salman League for Professionals reached 571249 fans.
The presence of the families in sports competitions was not limited to football only, but extended to all sports events organized by the General Sports Authority.
The families were present in the recent events in Saudi Arabia such as car racing, wrestling, boxing, Super Classics, International competitions, adventure and other events.
This presence has enriched all these sporting events and has been a key partner in its success.
