SPL Round 8 records and statistics



The results of Saudi Professional League week 8 saw big changes in the table, as seven teams moved up and on the other hand another 7 teams dropped to lower spots and two teams only retained their places.
Al-Hilal beat Al-Qadsya with two goals without reply, to clinch top of the league with 21 points from 7 matches with a game in hand, two points clear of Al-Ahli the second.
For their part, Al-Ahli overcame Al-Nasr 2-0 to displace Riyadh-based team in the second place, while Al-Nasr dropped to 3rd.
Al-Wahda remained 4th ahead of Al-Shabab on goal difference, in spite of their 1-0 loss to the capital team, who reached 14 points in the 5th place on the table.
A heavy 5-1 loss to Al-Faisaly saw Al-Ittifaq dropped to 6th, while Al-Taween dropped to 7th after a 1-0 defeat against Ohod.
Al-Faisaly moved up to the 8th place, one point ahead of Al-Fateh who dropped to 9th after a 2-1 defeat to Al-Fayhaa.
Al-Raed 2-1 win over Al-Ittihad, saw them moved up to the 10th place with 8 points.
178 goals were scored over the course of first 8 weeks, in 63 matches, with a ratio of 2.82 goals per match.
