Bilić, Tavares win SPL January Awards



Slaven Bilić, the coach of Al-Ittihad won the best coach award of the Saudi Pro League, for the month of January after leading his team to get four points from two matches.
Al-Ittihad beat Al-Qadsya 1-0, before held to a goalless draw against Al-Shabab, the third.
For his part, Djaniny Tavares, from Al-Ahli picked up the best player award after scoring 7 goals, during the month.
Tavares became the first player in the history of the Saudi Pro League to score 5 goals in one match, after netting 5 times in a 5-1 win over Ohod, in the 16th matchday.
Tavares added a brace in a 4-3 win over Al-Taween, in the 17th matchday, to reach 7 goals during January.
The last four months awards of the best coach have gone to Al-Hilal, Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, for the month of September, Fabio Carille, coach of Al-Wahda team for the month of October, Al-Fayhaa coach Slavoljub Muslin for the month of November and Al-Shabab coach, Marius Sumudica for the month of December.
While the best player of the month award went to, The Algerian keeper Rais Mbolhi (Al-Ittifaq), Venezuelan midfielder Romulo Otero (Al-Wahda), Cameroonian striker Leandre Tawamba (Al-Taweeon) and Moroccan forward Abderazak Hamdallah (Al-Nasr) in a row.
The winners of the best player and the best coach awards, get 50 thousands SAR for each one.
