SPL Holds ‘Player Contracts’ workshop targeting club staff



The Saudi Pro League (SPL) held on Wednesday 17 August 2022 a workshop titled ‘Player Contracts’ targeted for staff at departments of football, legal affairs, and professional affairs at the 2022-23 Saudi Pro League clubs. The workshop is part of SPL’s efforts to equip and empower staff, providing them with the opportunity to keep up with the latest updates in the fields of law and governance.

The workshop, which took place in the capital Riyadh, was conducted by specialised lecturers and experts from international organizations, with instant interpretation to enrich the discussion between all participants.

Discussion touched on various topics including transfer negotiations, agent fees, players’ image rights and solidarity contribution, in addition to the roles and specialties of the FIFA Tribunal and the FIFA Clearing House. Also discussed were questions related to contract termination, group negotiations and release of international players.

This workshop is part of a series of workshops conducted by SPL this week ahead of the new season, including match commissioners and coordinators workshop, media coordinators workshop and competitions committee workshop.
