Five-goal win over Damac gives Al-Ahli the second place



Al-Ahli overcame Damac 5-1, at the end of the first day of matchday 12 of Prince Mohamed Bin Salman Professionals Cup League.

Djaniny Tavares put Al-Ahli in front after 9 minutes with an impressive left-foot shot from outside the penalty area, then Hussien Makhawy added the second goal four minutes later.

Zakarai Hedraf netted the away team sole goal in the 36th minute after receiving a cross turned it into the net.

Lucas Lima scored the third goal for Al-Ahli in the last minute of the first half from a free kick.

Tavares made it 4-1 in the 58th minute, after following a ball returned from the keeper, then Ali Al-Asmari scored the fifth goal in the second minute of injury time.

Al-Ahli reached 23 points to go second, while Damac remained with 7 points in the 15th spot.
