SPL round 22: Al-Taween join 50-goal club .. Tawamba tops SPL scoring charts



For the second round in a row in Prince Mohammed bin Salman League for Professional Clubs two teams only saw their positions changed as Al-Fayhaa jumped to the 13th place while Al-Batin returned to the 14th spot while the other 14 teams kept their places.
The round witnessed two derbies one in Riyadh between Al-Shabab and Al-Nasr and another in Jeddah between Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad.
Al-Nasr decided their game against Al-Shabab with a 1-0 win with a goal from Abdel Razik Hamdalla while Jeddah derby ended in a 1-1 tie.
Al-Hilal, with 55 points, retained the lead of the league for the 16th round in a row and became the only team to score in all the league 22 rounds.
Al-Hilal is the only team without a loss in 2019 in 7 games saw 6 wins and one draw on the other hand Al-Raed is the only team without a victory as they lost 3 games and drew in 4 matches.
Al-Nasr remained second with 49 points 6 points behind the leaders Al-Hilal, followed by Al-Shabab the third with 40 points one point ahead of Al-Taween the 4th.
Al-Ahli sit 5th with 37 points two points ahead of Al-Wahda the 6th then Al-Fateh sit 7th with 32 points, Al-Faisaly lie 8th with 30 points, Al-Ittifaq have 28 points in the 9th place, Al-Raed sit 10th with25 points, Al-Qadsya sit 11th with 24 points, Al-Hazm sit 12th with 23 points, Al-Fayhaa drew level with Al-Batin with 19 points for each team in the 13th and 14th places, Al-Ittihad sit 15th with 16 points and Ohod lie 16th with 13 points.
495 goals were scored in 176 SPL matches with a ratio of 2.81 goals per match, 5 goals from reaching 500 goals.
Al-Hilal remained the most scoring team with 55 goals. Al-Taween come second on the list of the teams with the most goals with 50 goals, to become the fifth team in the league history to score 50 goals after 22 rounds as Al-Hilal did it 4 times, Al-Ahli did it 3 times, Al-Nasr did it two times and finally Al-Ittihad did it once.
Al-Taween also became the first team in SPL history to win 3 games in a row with a margin of three goals.
Ohod now have the worst defense after receiving 46 goals, followed by Al-Batin (41 goals), on the other hand Al-Shabab have the best defense with conceding 14 goals followed by Al-Nasr with 19 goals as they are the only teams to receive less than 20 goals.
Leandre Tawamba from Al-Taween leads the scoring charts with 18 goals following his hat-trick against Al-Ittifaq with Al-Hilal's Bafetimbi Gomis a goal back, while Al-Ahli's Omar Al-Somah and Al-Nasr's Abdel Razek Hamdalaa share the third place with 15 goals.
Tawamba and Gomis are the only players to score against 10 teams in Prince Mohammed bin Salman League for Professional Clubs while Al-Somah and Chrisian Guanca netted goals against 9 teams.
Total attendance of the matchday games reached 90163 fans to become the second round in the list of the most attended rounds after the 3rd matchday with 102509 fans.
